Observed dust surface density across cosmic times

چکیده
ABSTRACT Our ability to interpret observations of galaxies and trace their stellar, gas, dust content over cosmic time critically relies on our understanding how the abundance properties vary with environment. Here, we compute surface density across times put novel constraints simulations build-up dust. We provide observational estimates consistently measured through depletion methods a wide range environments, going from Milky Way up z = 5.5 galaxies. These conservative measurements complementary extinction-based observations. In addition, introduce distribution function – in analogy cold gas column functions. fit power law form log f(ΣDust) −1.92 × ΣDust − 3.65, which proves slightly steeper than that for neutral metal absorbers. This observed relation, can be computed by predicting resolved mass functions 2D projection, provides new modern models.

Detailed analysis of observed antiprotons in cosmic rays
In the present work, the origin of antiprotons observed in cosmic rays (above the atmosphere) is analyzed in details. We have considered the origin of the primaries, (which their interactions with the interstellar medium is one of the most important sources of antiprotons) is a supernova type II then used a diffusion model for their propagation. We have used the latest parameterization for anti...
متن کاملDust absorption and the cosmic ultraviolet flux density
We study the evolution of the galaxy UV luminosity density as a function of redshift in the Hubble Deep Field North (HDF–N). We estimate the amount of energy absorbed by dust and hidden from optical observations by analyzing the HDF–N photometric data with the spectral energy distribution fitting method. According to our results, at redshifts 1 ≤ z ≤ 4.5, the global energy observed in the UV re...
متن کاملDust Vs . Cosmic Acceleration
Two groups have recently discovered a statistically significant deviation in the fluxes of high-redshift type Ia supernovae from the predictions of a Friedmann model with zero cosmological constant. In this Letter, I argue that bright, dusty, starburst galaxies would preferentially eject a dust component with a shallower opacity curve (hence less reddening) and a higher opacity/mass than the ob...
متن کاملCosmic dust grains strike again
A detailed simulation of air showers produced by dust grains has been performed by means of the aires Monte Carlo code with the aim of comparing with experimental data. Our analysis indicates that extensive dust grain air showers must yet be regarded as highly speculative but they cannot be completely ruled out. PACS number(s): 98.70.Sa, 98.70.-f
متن کاملCosmic Dust, Refraction and Emissivity
Cosmic dust is pervasive within our galaxy and it is reasonable to suspect it is dispersed in various ways throughout the universe. Cosmic dust has emissivity when exposed to electromagnetic energy sources. The emissivity of cosmic dust contributes to cosmic radio noise and concentrations of it alters electromagnetic waves by refraction. Cosmic dust is concentrated in our Sun’s heliosphere and ...
